This project was part of More City than Water, a collaborative effort between the Graphic Design Block Program class of 2018 and Houston-based writers sharing their experiences during Hurricane Harvey.
This experimented map highlights flooded areas in Fort Bend County, showing locations of medical aid while addressing the challenges faced by multilingual communities in accessing assistance. Through layered textures, typography, and cartographic elements, I aimed to create a compelling visual narrative of the storm’s aftermath. Additionally, I designed a book cover that reflects the themes of resilience and chaos caused by the hurricane. While my designs weren’t selected for the final project, I’m proud of how they turned out and how they communicate the emotional and geographical impact of the disaster.
