“The Real Thirst” is a data-driven visual exploration of water scarcity and its impact on food production. Through circular rainfall graphs and contrasting crop yield trends, the design highlights the declining water supply and its direct consequences on agriculture. The use of gradient colors ensures smooth visual transitions, while sketch-style icons reinforce the seriousness of the crisis. This project serves as a stark reminder of how dwindling water resources shape economies, communities, and survival.
Throughout the design process, I refined “The Real Thirst” from its earlier versions to achieve a more impactful and visually compelling final poster. Initially, the design lacked the strong visual hierarchy and urgency needed to convey the severity of the water crisis. By iterating through different layouts, color schemes, and data visualization methods, I worked to create a clearer narrative. I introduced gradient colors for smooth transitions, contrasting elements to highlight key data, and sketch-style icons to reinforce the seriousness of the issue. Each adjustment brought the poster closer to its final form—one that effectively communicates the crisis of water scarcity and its impact on food production in North Korea.
